Haier Cools Down a Modern Dentist Building in the Netherlands

The comprehensive renovation required an advanced HVAC system to meet the strict hygienic standards of dental facilities while ensuring comfort for patients and staff. The building, with its various treatment rooms and common areas, urgently needed an efficient heating and cooling solution to cater to its year round needs.
The project presented unique challenges. The HVAC system needed to provide clean, healthy air while meeting the diverse demands of the dental practice’s layout. Additionally, space constraints ruled out conventional rooftop or ground-level outdoor unit installations, requiring an innovative indoor placement solution.
Two local installation companies, Installatiebedrijf Rutten B.V. and Heijmen Elektrotechniek, joined forces to take on this challenge. Supported by Haier’s local distributor, Wasco, the teams worked closely to design a solution that met the client’s requirements.
Haier HVAC Solutions was quickly identified as the preferred choice due to its reputation for reliability, cost-effectiveness, and an extensive product portfolio offering advanced functionalities. The proposed system included two MRV5-H heat Pump VRF Systems as well as a selection of Indoor Units.
The MRV5-H outdoor units were selected for their continuous heating capability, even during defrost mode, ensuring consistent performance regardless of external conditions. These units are designed for high efficiency and quiet operation, making them ideal for environments like dental practices.
When it came to the installation of the indoor units, the building was divided into two zones to ensure efficient operation. The first zone was equipped with eleven Round Flow Cassette units, paired with one MRV5-H outdoor unit while twelve Round Flow Cassette units, connected to the second MRV5-H, were installed in the second
zone.
Each Round Flow Cassette features a 360-degree airflow design, ensuring uniform air distribution without blind spots for ultimate comfort.
The cassettes are also packed with Haier’s UVC Sterilization Module, certified by Texcell S.A., which inhibits 99.998% of viruses, including SARSCoV-2. This ensures a clean and healthy indoor environment, crucial for a medical facility.
“Haier’s MRV5-H systems, combined with advanced Round Flow Cassettes featuring 360-degree airflow and UVC sterilization, provided Wellestate Dentists with a clean, efficient, and hygienic environment tailored to their specific needs. This innovative solution, installed indoors to overcome space constraints, ensures year-round comfort and optimal performance for staff and patients alike.”
To enhance user convenience and offer optimal flexibility, the system was equipped with two different controllers:
• A HC-SA164DBT central controller, featuring a user-friendly 5-inch colour touchscreen with features such as weekly scheduling, alarm displays, and MODBUS compatibility. It allows centralized management of all units while enabling tailored settings for each zone.
• and several HW-BA116ABK Wall Controllers, paired with each cassette unit, enabling precise temperature adjustments for every room to meet specific needs.
Due to space limitations, the outdoor units were installed indoors in two specially designed technical rooms. The walls of these rooms were double-insulated to minimize noise, and ductwork with sound dampers was installed for the exhaust and return grilles. Stainless steel drip trays connected to the sewer system were added to manage condensate drainage during heating operations. This setup ensures that the system remains functional, visually discreet, and acoustically optimized, meeting both the practical and aesthetic needs of the client.
Marc Heijmen, from Heijmen Elektrotechniek, shared: “Collaborating with Frank and his team at Installatiebedrijf Rutten B.V., supported by Wasco, enabled us to deliver an exceptional HVAC solution for Wellestate Dentists. The project showcases our ability to innovate and adapt, ensuring client satisfaction and optimal performance.”
Frank Rutten, from Installatiebedrijf Rutten B.V., added: “This project demonstrated the strength of our partnership with Heijmen Elektrotechniek. By combining our expertise, we successfully tackled the challenges and delivered a solution that exceeded expectations.”
The innovative approach to indoor unit installation and the use of advanced MRV systems have ensured a comfortable, efficient, and quiet environment, perfectly suited for a modern dental practice.
From hygienic features like UVC sterilization to innovative installation approaches, Haier’s MRV systems offer reliable, energy-efficient, and flexible solutions for specialised environments like dental practices.
