HAIER RISES TO THE CHALLENGE AT PRESTIGIOUS RESIDENTIAL BLOCK
Four low-noise Haier MRV S air conditioning units have been installed at a prestigious residential block where concerns about overheating on the upper floors were an issue. Delivering cooling for the top three floors of the building in Prague and keeping noise levels to a minimum was the challenge facing the installer Cooltop. By combining low-noise Haier MRV S commercial outdoor units with 47 wall-mounted Haier Flexis indoor units – and overcoming a difficult new build timescale – worries were eased.
The system was designed on behalf of Cooltop by Haier’s Prague-based distributor Sokra. Haier Easy MRV valve boxes were also fitted to the outdoor units to take care of any possible noise issues surrounding the expansion valves
Cooltop is a long-established customer of Haier HVAC in the Czech Republic. Marek and his team worked closely with the installer and the investors in the building project on a green field site to ensure that the design for the air conditioning system was right for the job. With other building work happening around the air conditioning installation, the installers had to be patient and it took almost a year to complete the job. The total cooling capacity for the Prague installation is 113kWs.
“There are strict laws about noise levels in residential areas of Prague but we had to look at ways of maintaining cooling in the summer heat and ensure that everyone had a good night’s sleep in a large residential building. To achieve this we used a mixture of Haier outdoor units and Haier indoor units.“

MRV S offers all the benefits you would expect in an advanced VRF system – including, total control over the system, easy installation and superb energy efficiencies. As well as residential blocks, it is also ideal for offices, shops, hotels, health and education facilities.
Haier’s Flexis indoor units, available in matte white and black, are a superb solution for mono-split or multi-system heating and cooling. Flexis indoor units include the the UVC generator as a standard feature which generates UV rays to aid sterilisation for a healthier, cleaner, room air environment. It has also been independently tested by Texcell to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in the unit to 99.991 per cent effectiveness.
Flexis also includes the Haier Eco Sensor function allowing residents to enjoy the perfect comfort “The sensor follows them around the room. One hundred per cent air flow is maintained but this can be directed to wherever people are located,” Marek explained.
Residents will also be able to enjoy all the advantages of MRV’s Wi-Fi connected smart technology. The Wi-Fi connects to the Haier hOn app, giving them the flexibility and convenience of having complete control of the air conditioning system from their mobile phone wherever they are. The big advantage of a single Haier control system is that it is easy to keep an eye on performance 24 hours a day.
“With the timescale of the building work, the issues with heat on the upper floors and concerns about noise levels, the job proved to be quite a challenge but the Haier MRV S system and the Haier Flexis indoor units are now in place, working successfully and the customer is very happy,” added Marek.
