Aphrodite Advertising House Chooses Haier HVAC for High-Efficiency Climate Control in New Cyprus Offices

Project Overview

As part of the development of its new office facility in Cyprus, Aphrodite Advertising House sought a high-performance HVAC solution capable of delivering reliable, energy-efficient climate control throughout the building.

T.C. Multiklima Engineering Ltd was appointed to design and install the complete HVAC system, working in close collaboration with the main contractor, GHP & Sons Metallika & Oikodomika Erga Ltd.

To ensure optimal comfort for occupants, a comprehensive Haier HVAC solution was selected to serve the building's open-plan office spaces and conference facilities. Combining high cooling performance, exceptional energy efficiency and intelligent centralised controls for easy management, the system provides a comfortable and productive indoor environment while supporting the building's operational objectives.

The Challenge

The primary objective was to deliver reliable, consistent cooling performance throughout the building, ensuring a comfortable indoor environment even during the peak Cypriot summer temperatures. With a mix of open-plan workspaces, private offices and dedicated conference facilities, the system needed to provide uniform air distribution while allowing individual zones to be independently controlled to meet varying occupancy and comfort requirements.

A key challenge centred on the installation of the outdoor units. Due to the building’s steel construction and pitched sandwich-panel roof, the structure was unable to support the weight of the MRV outdoor unit. At the same time, the available ground-level areas surrounding the building had been designated for vehicle parking, limiting suitable locations for the external units.

As a result, the project required an innovative installation approach that could accommodate the outdoor equipment without compromising the building’s structural integrity or reducing valuable parking capacity, while ensuring optimal system performance and long-term reliability.

The Partner

T.C. Multiklima Engineering Ltd was entrusted with the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the complete HVAC system for the new Aphrodite Advertising House offices. Drawing on its extensive expertise in mechanical engineering and climate control solutions, the company worked closely with the main contractor throughout the project to develop and deliver a solution tailored to the building’s operational requirements and cooling demands.

Beyond providing effective climate control, the project presented several technical challenges, particularly regarding the placement of the outdoor equipment. To address these constraints, the team applied specialist engineering expertise and innovative problem-solving to develop a bespoke installation solution, ensuring the system could be successfully integrated without compromising the building’s structure, functionality or available parking facilities.

The result is a high-performance, energy-efficient HVAC system that delivers exceptional comfort, reliability and ease of control, supporting a productive working environment for occupants throughout the year.

The Haier Solution

A combination of Haier MRV high-capacity air conditioning systems and Revive wall-mounted split systems were selected to provide flexible cooling throughout the new office building.

The installation included:

  • 2 x AV18IMVEVA MRV outdoor units (18 HP)
  • 2 x AV20IMVEVA MRV outdoor units (20 HP)
  • 2 x AB382MNERA 4-way cassette indoor units
  • 14 x AB482MNERA 4-way cassette indoor units
  • 2 x AS35RBAHRA / 1U35YESFRA-4 Revive split systems for the offices
  • 3 x AS50RCBHRA / 1U50MERFRA-4 Revive split systems for the conference room
  • 1 x HC-SA164DBT central controller for the MRV system

At the heart of the installation are four Haier MRV outdoor units, delivering a combined nominal cooling capacity of approximately 212.8 kW (76 HP) to provide powerful, reliable climate control across the building’s larger open-plan workspaces and shared areas.

To complement the central system, Haier Revive split systems were installed within the individual offices and conference room, providing dedicated comfort and precise temperature management for each space. Individual wired controllers enable occupants to adjust settings according to their specific requirements, ensuring optimal comfort and flexibility throughout the building.

For enhanced operational efficiency, the MRV system is integrated with a centralised control platform, allowing building managers to monitor performance, schedule operation and manage the entire system from a single location. This intelligent approach not only simplifies day-to-day management but also helps maximise energy efficiency while maintaining consistently comfortable indoor conditions across the facility.

Installation

The positioning of the outdoor units presented the most significant installation challenge, as neither the roof nor the surrounding ground-level areas could accommodate the equipment.

To overcome these constraints, T.C. Multiklima Engineering Ltd developed a bespoke solution, designing and constructing two heavy-duty steel support platforms positioned approximately four metres above ground level. This approach enabled the installation of all four MRV outdoor units alongside five Revive outdoor units without impacting parking capacity or restricting access around the building. The elevated installation also provides an additional layer of security, helping to protect the equipment from damage and unauthorised access.

Given the scale and complexity of the installation, specialist lifting equipment was utilised to safely position the outdoor units onto the platforms, ensuring a smooth and efficient installation process while maintaining the highest safety standards.

The main installation works, including the construction of the steel platforms, installation of the equipment and completion of the refrigerant pipework infrastructure, were successfully delivered within a two-month period. Final commissioning was carried out following the completion and handover of the building by the main contractor, ensuring the system was fully optimised and ready to provide reliable, energy-efficient climate control from day one of occupation.

Why Haier?

Haier HVAC was selected for its ability to combine high-performance cooling, outstanding energy efficiency and the flexibility required to meet the demands of a modern commercial office environment.

At the core of the solution, Haier’s MRV Full DC Inverter technology continuously adjusts system output in line with real-time demand, ensuring optimal comfort while minimising energy consumption. This intelligent operation enables the system to maintain consistent indoor temperatures throughout the building while supporting lower running costs and improved overall efficiency.

The flexibility of the MRV platform also proved a significant advantage. By allowing multiple indoor units to be connected to fewer outdoor modules, the system delivered a highly effective solution for a site where external installation space was restricted. This streamlined approach enabled the project team to maximise available space without compromising performance or comfort.

In addition, the integration of centralised controls provides simple and efficient management of the entire HVAC system from a single location, giving building operators enhanced visibility and control over day-to-day operation.

Equally important was the local expertise and ongoing after-sales support provided by T.C. Multiklima Engineering Ltd, offering confidence from initial design through to commissioning and on-going management.

"Today, the Haier system operates quietly, efficiently and exactly as intended. The ability to control the entire building from a single point has made day-to-day management straightforward, and the comfort levels throughout the offices have been excellent. We would recommend Haier and Multiklima without hesitation.”

The Result

The completed installation has provided Aphrodite Advertising House with a highly efficient, reliable and flexible climate control solution tailored to the demands of its new office facility. Designed to deliver year-round comfort, the system creates an optimal working environment across the building while supporting operational efficiency and ease of management.

Featuring 21 indoor units with a combination of MRV and Split Systems, the solution offers precise, zone-specific temperature control throughout the building. This enables all areas of the building to be conditioned according to their individual requirements, while the centralised management platform simplifies monitoring and operation of the MRV system from a single location.

The innovative installation of the outdoor units on purpose-built elevated platforms also ensured the building's parking facilities remained unaffected.

The project stands as an excellent example of how Haier HVAC's advanced climate control technology, combined with the engineering expertise and problem-solving capabilities of T.C. Multiklima Engineering Ltd, can deliver high-performance, energy-efficient solutions that meet the complex requirements of modern commercial buildings. The result is a future-ready HVAC installation that provides lasting comfort, operational flexibility and dependable performance for years to come.
